JOIN US TO TAKE AN ACTIVE PART IN RESTORING CORAL REEFS
-
Your day will begin at an I.CARE classroom facility (I.CARE office or REEF Ocean Exploration Center)
Please contact your participating shop to verify the following schedule:

12:15pm - check in for the afternoon boat
1:00pm - two-tank dive participating in hands-on coral or sponge restoration
NOTE: If you have participated in one of our restoration trips within the last 6 months, you do not have to attend the morning classroom training.
-
To combat coral reef herbivore decline, I.CARE conducts maintenance dives to remove macroalage and sediment build-up from around outplants. Recreational divers are able to participate in these dives as well!
Your day will begin at an I.CARE classroom facility (I.CARE office, Conch Republic Divers, or Amoray Dive Resort)
Please contact your participating shop to verify the following schedule:
11:30am - maintenance demonstration at training location
12:15pm - check in for the afternoon boat
1:00pm - two-tank dive participating in hands-on coral reef maintenance
-
30 dive requirement or a Peak Performance Buoyancy (PPB) Course - since buoyancy is crucial to restoring the reef, ensuring divers are comfortable working underwater being neutrally buoyant is key
Don’t have 30 dives or PPB yet? We allow exceptions to this requirement if you dive with a member of a participating dive shop. Just have them send in a recommendation on your behalf!
-
MONROE COUNTY LOCALS DIVE FOR FREE - Thanks to funding provided by Florida’s Coral Reef Restoration and Recovery (FCR3) Initiative, Palmer Foundation, and Community Foundation of the Florida Keys, I.CARE is able to support diving for Monroe County locals at little to no cost (depending on gear needs).
Contact a shop below to sign up as a local!
NON-LOCALS - Cost is dependent on participating dive shop cost (~$110 + gear)
Contact a shop below to book your trip!
All trip costs include a $25 donation that goes directly to I.CARE
Tips and gratuities for boat crew and I.CARE Divemasters are also not included in overall trip cost.
